Evonik Developing Plans for Construction Of MMA Plant Based on Aveneer Process

Essen-Evonik Industries said it is developing plans to build the first methyl methacrylate (MMA) plant using its recently developed Aveneer production process (PCN, 6 Oct 08, p 3). Aveneer is based on ammonia, methane, acetone and methanol, without the additional use of sulfuric acid, which is normally used in the production of MMA.
