American Acryl Restarts Production At Damaged Acrylic Acid Facility

Houston-American Acryl has resumed production at its Bayport, Texas, acrylic acid plant, which was damaged in a 9 Dec. 2009 explosion (PCN, 14 Dec 09, p 1). American Acryl, reported to have 120,000 t/y of acrylic acid capacity at the time of the incident, is an equally owned joint venture of Nippon Shokubai's NA Industries subsidiary and Arkema.
