Braskem Commits Funds to Research Green Propylene for PP Production

Rio de Janeiro- Braskem said it plans to invest R$8.25-million to expand its research on producing "green" propylene for the production of polypropylene (PP) from 100% renewable feedstock. "Our technology has already been tested in pilot experiments, and we are improving our polymers with more competitive technologies in commercial scale, based on raw material of renewable source," noted Antonio Queiroz, director of innovation and technology at Braskem. "The market sizing will define the next steps and deadlines," he added.
