Sigdo Koppers, Brescia JV Planning Peruvian NH3 & NH4NO3 Complex

Lima-Nitratos del Peru, a joint venture of Sigdo Koppers and the Brescia group, plans to invest $650-million to build an ammonia and ammonium nitrate plant in Peru, the Andina news agency reported. The plant, to be built at Pisco in southern Peru, will have the capacity to produce 710,000 t/y of ammonia and 350,000 t/y of ammonium nitrate. Production is scheduled for 2011.
