BP and DuPont Form Butamax JV To Research, Develop Biobutanol

Wilmington-BP and DuPont announced they have completed the formation of Butamax Advanced Biofuels, a company established as a joint venture to research, develop and commercialize biobutanol (PCN, 13 July 09, p 3). Following four years of extensive technology, development and fuel testing, and approval earlier this month from the European Commission, the venture is "now ready for demonstration phase," Butamax said.
