Bangkok-Dow Chemical last week said that its joint venture with the Siam Cement Group (SCG), SCG-Dow Group, has begun construction on a new propylene oxide (PO) facility in Map Ta Phut, Thailand. The new unit, located within the Asia Industrial Estates (AIE), will have 390,000 t/y of PO capacity and will be based on Dow and BASF's jointly developed hydrogen peroxide (HP) to propylene oxide (HPPO) technology.
