Flint Hills Closing Odessa Plant

Odessa-Flint Hills Resources has announced plans to shut down its Odessa, Texas, polymers production plant by the middle of 2009. Flint Hills purchased the plant from Huntsman Corp. last year as part of the acquisition of Huntsman's U.S. base chemicals assets (PCN, 6 Oct 07, p 1). The sale excluded Huntsman's amorphous polyalphaolefins products, which Flint Hills agreed to produce for Huntsman at Odessa under a long-term supply arrangement.
