Sao Paulo-Dow Chemical expects to soon acquire land in Brazil to grow sugar cane for the production of ethanol, Dow Jones said. Dow and Brazilian ethanol company Crystalsev signed a memorandum of understanding last July to produce polyethylene (PE) from sugar cane (PCN, 23 July 07, p 2).
