IOC, Calik Receive Government Approval For Ceyhan Refinery Project in Turkey

Nicosia-Indian Oil Corp. (IOC) and Calik Enerji of Turkey have received Turkish government approval for their proposed joint venture refinery at Ceyhan, Turkey (PCN, 4 June 07, p 3). The venture plans to invest about $4.9-billion to build a 15-million-t/y refinery and anticipates construction of a petrochemical complex in a second phase. The venture will also include ENI and KazMunaiGaz as partners, local press reports said. All required licenses for the project, which is the fourth refinery planned for Ceyhan, have been granted.
