Braskem Identifies Triunfo Complex As Site for Production of 'Green' PE

Sao Paulo-Braskem last week announced plans to invest more than R$1-billion at the Triunfo, Rio Grande do Sul, petrochemical complex over the next three years, including the production of "green" polyethylene (PE). Braskem last year confirmed plans to build a 200,000-t/y PE plant using ethanol from sugar cane as the feedstock, but did not give a location for the project (PCN, 5 Nov 07, p 1).
