CNOOC Plans Expansions in Huizhou; Shell JV Completing Ethylene Boost

Huizhou—China National Offshore Oil Co. (CNOOC) is developing plans to expand capacities at Huizhou, in China's Guangdong Province, including the addition of refining and ethylene capacity, reported Reuters. Specifically, CNOOC, which has a 12-million-t/y refinery at Huizhou, plans to spend 44.2-billion yuan to increase refining capacity to 22-million t/y and add 1-million t/y of ethylene capacity by 2015 (PCN, 3 Aug 09, p 2).
