Sunoco Permanently Closes Eagle Point Due to 'Unfavorable' Market Conditions

Philadelphia- Sunoco Inc. last week announced it has permanently closed it previously idled Eagle Point refinery in Westville, N.J. (PCN, 12 Oct 09, p 3). The units at Eagle Point were idled early last November and production was transferred to its nearby refineries in Marcus Hook and Philadelphia, Penn. At that time, the company said Eagle Point would be idled until market conditions improved and they would evaluate this decision and other options on an ongoing basis.
