Dow Completes Sale to Arkema Of Acrylates and Latex Assets

Midland-Dow has closed the sale to Arkema of its acrylic acid and esters business in Clear Lake, Texas, and its UCAR emulsion systems specialty latex business in North America (PCN, 10 Aug 09, p 1). The transaction, valued at $50-million, was required by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) as part of Dow's recent acquisition of Rohm and Haas.
