Tata Chemicals Eyes Further Boost In Production of Urea at Babrala

New Delhi-Tata Chemicals said it is considering an investment of about 3,500 crore to further increase urea capacity at its Babrala, India, plant to 1.6-milIion t/y. The company is in the process of debottlenecking the Babrala plant to raise urea capacity to 1.2-million t/y from 865,000 t/y (PCN, 4 June 07, p 4). That project is scheduled to be completed this September and will come on stream in October, Tata stated during a conference call.
