St. Louis-Solutia last week said its Flexsys subsidiary will discontinue production at its Ruabon, Wales, complex by the end of this year as part of a "portfolio optimization strategy." With the end of production at Ruabon, Flexsys will no longer be involved in the market for Santogard pre-vulcan-ization inhibitors, Perkacit secondary accelerator in the rubber vulcanization process, and Flectol, which protects against oxidative aging.
