IOC Awards Tecnimont Contract For Two New Panipat PP Plants

Panipat-Indian Oil Corp.(IOC)has awarded Tecnimont SpA a 350-million turnkey contract for two new polypropylene(PP)plants to be built at Panipat,India(PCN,5 June 06,p 3).The PP plants are part of an Rs 11,900 crore naphtha cracking complex IOC is building at Panipat.When completed in 2009,in addition to 600,000 t/y of PP,the project will have the capacity to produce 800,000 t/y of ethylene and 575,000 t/y of propylene,300,000 t/y of high-density polyethylene,350,000 t/y of linear low-density polyethylene and 250,000 t/y of ethylene glycol.
