Qatar Melamine Co.JV Established To Build Mesaieed Production Unit

Doha-Qatar Fertiliser Co.(Qafco)and Qatar Intermediate Industries Holding Co.last week signed an agreement establishing Qatar Mela-mine Co.as a new joint venture to build a melamine plant in Mesaieed,Qatar.The new venture plans to start construction on a 60,000-t/y melamine plant during the fourth quarter of this year.Yara International,which holds a 25% interest in Qafco,noted it will be"the largest melamine plant in the Middle East and the second largest in the world."
