摘要

Tomato (Lycopersicon lycopersicum) tops the list of the important culinary and canned vegetables. It is the world's largest vegetable crop cultivated under different agro climatic zones next to potato and sweet potato. Tomato crops are constantly exposed to abiotic, biotic and manmade stresses the world over. By and large these factors together, are currently said to be deciding the output component of the crop. Chemical and biological means are used either to circumvent these regulative factors or to control the effect of these factors for the improvement of the economy of the tomato cultivation. In view of the importance that the tomato holds on the food front, the cultivation scenario however warrants shuttle reduction if not complete eliminationof chemicalization in tomato across the world. The present work focuses on such of those aspects that help to interpolate the natural molecules that fit into the realm of sustainable green and clean tomato cultivation.
