摘要

Out of six chemicals tested the performance of seed treatment of wheat seeds with 0.5% Thiram and 0.5% copper oxychloride, having relatively less acute toxicity and also being commonly used fungicides, was found better than dimethoate, chlorpyriphos and Nimbecidine (Neemoil based) in pot experiments. Thiram and copper oxychloride took relative less days to germination of seeds, resulted in 100 per cent germination and less damage to sproutings by birds. House crow (Corvus splendens) and the house sparrow (Passer domesticus) were recorded to inflict damage to the sproutings/seedlings. No bird mortality was recorded at and around the experimental site.
