The most important issues regarding qualification of plant protection products for use in ecological farming

After accession to the European Union Poland implemented a number of EU law regulations concerning among others the ecological agriculture and plant protection. Those regulations name strict principles of qualifying plant protection products for use in ecological farming in member states. They have been implemented by numerous deeds to Polish law as well. By that means presently plant protection products are qualified for application in ecological agriculture on the same basis in Poland as in other EU countries. In this article the rules regarding qualification of plant protection products for use in ecological agriculture and the current list of qualified products are presented. The question of the possibility of using in ecological agriculture thepreparations, which are not placed on the Polish market as the plant protection products will be discussed, as well as the initiatives of Plant Protection Institute aiming at resolving that problem.
