摘要

In vitro studies on the efficacy of four fungal and bacterial antagonist were tested against Rhizoctonia solani causing banded leafand sheath blight of maize. Out of the entire antagonist T. harzianum was best in inhibiting the mycelial growth at 72 hrs of incubation followed by T. viride and G virens. Coiling, lysis, vacuolation, gradual disintegration of protoplasm and air bubbling within the parasitised hyphae and breaking of cytoplasmic continuity inside the mycelium are the some of the mode of parasitism observed in the present study.
