摘要

Sheath rot disease of rice caused by Sarocladium oryzae is an important disease of rice in West Bengal and is one of the major production constraints in irrigated, rainfed upland (red and laterite tract) and rainfed lowland (shallow and deepwater) ecosystems and also during drought. Field experiment was conducted during kharif {wet) season, 2010 and how (dry) season, 2010-11, to evaluate the relative efficacy of new fungicides against sheath rot disease of rice. Two new fungicidal formulations, viz.,Hexaconazole 75 WG and Kresoxim methyl 40% + Hexaconazole 8% WG were tested at their respective doses along with four commercially available fungicides as standard check. Significant reduction in disease severity and increased grain yield were obtainedfrom the plots treated separately with Kresoxim methyl 40% + Hexaconazole 8% WG and Hexaconazole 75 WG respectively during both the seasons.
