EFFICACY OF THREE NEW CHEMICALS OVER DIAMOND BACK MOTH PLUTELLA XYLOSTELLA L. ON CAULIFLOWER

A field trial was conducted to assess the bioefficacy of thiourea based insecticide diafenthiuron (POLO 50 SC), Bacillus thuringiensis strain GC-91 (AGREE 50 WP) and chitin inhibitor lufenuron (MATCH 5 EC) against diamond back moth (DBM) in comparisonwith commonly used insecticide fenvalerate. The results indicated that lufenuron (MATCH 5 EC) at the concentration of 600 ml or 400 ml. ha~(-1), was found to be highly effective against DBM based on the per cent reduction in larval population and increase in yield.
