摘要

A field trial was conducted at Komarapalayam village of Attur taluk, Salem district, Tamil Nadu during December 2001 to assess the bio-efficacy of Actara 25WG a Thianicotinyl compound against Mango hopper (Amritodus atkinsoni Leth. and Idioscopus niveosparasus Leth.) in comparison with the now recommended organophosphate insecticide, Monocrotophos 36 SL. The results indicated that spraying Actara 25WG @ 50 and 1 OOg a.i. ha~(-1) two times, once at the pre-blooming stage and second at post-blooming (pin head) stage reduced the hopper population from 7 to 1 per inflorescence.
