Antifungal activity of pyrazolo pyrimidine derivatives: N~1-nicotinoyl-4'-(sulpha/substituted phenylazo)-1,2-diazol-4,6 dimethyl pyrimidine-5-one

A series of fused heterocycle pyrazolo pyrimidine, namely, N~1-nicotinoyl-4'-(sulpha/substituted phenylazo)-1,2 diazole-4,6- dimethyl pyrimidine-5-one has been synthesized. The compounds have been screened for antifungal activity against building fungi. Aspergillus niger and Penicillium frequentans, fungal spp. were used for testing antifungal activity of a compound during the present study. It was found that out of 29 compounds, thirteen have shown significant fungicidal activity against both the above species. Minimum Inhibition Concentration (MIC) was observed between 100-200 ppm for most of the compounds.
