摘要

Nimbecidine - a neem oil based EC formulation containing 0.03 percent Azadirachtin was evaluated under laboratory condition on castor semilooper, Achaea janata (L.) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) infesting the castor plants. A significantly higher mortality rate in all the treatments irrespective of doses was observed. A mortality rate of as high as 57 percent, 75 percent and 81 percent were observed in treatments involving Nimbecidine - 2 ml/litre (T1), Nimbecidine - 4 ml/litre (T2), Nimbecidine - 6 ml/litre (T3), respectively. A positive dose dependent antifeedant activity of Nimbecidine was also observed. Significance of using Nimbecidine as a safe ecofriendly molecule in Integrated Pest Management is also discussed.
