Field experiments conducted at Jabalpur during winter seasons of 1996-97 and 1997-98 revealed significant variations in growth parameters and yield of mustard (Brassica juncea L.) due to nitrogen levels and herbicides; however, planting geometry failed to affect these parameters significantly. Application of 120 kg N ha~(-1) resulted in better growth and biomass production leading to higher seed yield. Herbicides viz., isoproturon 1.0 kg and oxadiazon 0.75 kg ha~(-1) as pre emergence increased mostof the growth characters and biomass as compared to weedy check, resulting in higher seed yield of mustard.
