Effect of two new pyrethroids viz. fluvalinate and fenpropathrin @ 75 g a.i./ha and two new organophosphatic insecticides viz, triazophos and acephate was observed on the population buildup of jassid Amrasca biguttula biguttula (Ishida), whitefly (Bemisia tabaci Genn.) thrips (Thrips tabaci Linn.) and aphids (Aphis gossypii Glover) on Gossypium hirsutum. It was compared with fenvalerate @ 50 g and quinalphos @ 500 g ai/ha as standard. Each insecticide was repeatedly applied six times at 10 day interval during the flowering phase. None of the insecticide caused the resurgence of sucking pests. Different insecticides caused 59.94-90.86, 33.20-68.07, 67.10-78.95 and 30.64-65.90% reduction in jassid, whitefly, thrips and aphid population as compared with control. Fenpropathrin was most effective against jassid and fluvalinate against aphid as compared with other insecticides.
