White House nominates new EPA toxic substances chief

The White House has nominated James Gulliford to be Assistant Administrator for Toxic Substances at EPA.The Senate received formal notice Jan.18.As Assistant Administrator,Gulliford would head up EPA's Office of Prevention,Pesticides,and Toxic Substances (OPPTS),which is composed of the Office of Pesticide Programs,Office of Pollution,Prevention and Toxics,and the Office of Science Coordination and Policy.
