Australian group wants national standard for pesticide residue testing

The Australian Consumers Association(ACA)is calling for a mandatory national standard for the testing of pesticide residues in fruits and vegetables.The Food Standards Code sets a national benchmark for maximum residue levels(MRLs),but actual testing for MRLs is the responsibility of the states and territories.
