The head of the European Union's environment agency has lashed out at the European Food Safety Authority over its failure to recommend a ban on bisphenol A. Speaking to Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) in Brussels last week, European Environment Agency (EEA) Executive Director Jacqueline McGlade said, "We now stand in opposition to EFSA on this." Pointing to the ban that Canada has recently announced on bisphenol A, McGlade asked of EFSA: "Why aren't they saying this is a problem?"
