Monsanto announces favorable EFSA opinion before EFSA publishes

Monsanto issued a press statement on June 29 saying the European Food Safety Authority's GMO panel had concluded that its genetically modified maize MON810 is safe. However, EFSA did not publish the opinion until June 30. NGO Friends of the Earth Europe (FoEE) was quick to condemn EFSA for sharing the opinion with' tKe company but refusing to make it immediately available to anyone else.
