John L. Martinez and W. Douglas Belle report on the development and success of Raytheon's isothermal reactor technology for production of wet process phosphoric acid. Raytheon's most well-known fertilizer technology is the isothermal reactor process for production of wet process phosphoric acid. This efficient, dihy-drate reactor technology provides numerous benefits to its users; including high P_2O_5 recovery, excellent sulphate control, simplified operation, and low operating and maintenance costs.
