Multiplication of plane by winter cuttings in hotbeds and microcuttings in vitro.

摘要

Two methods were studied for multiplication of plane hybrids resistant to canker (Ceratocystis fimbriata f. sp. platani). Production of winter cuttings was a viable method for both Platanus orientalis and P. occidentalis. Superior results were achieved with in vitro micropropagation of P. orientalis than with classic cuttings. The advantages and disadvantages of these techniques are compared.
