Biodegradable pots in ornamental cultivation.

Studies are summarized on the use of biodegradable pots for the cultivation of ornamental plants such as Forsythia, Fuchsia and Pelargonium. The pots tested were constructed from peat and wood, coconut fibres, Miscanthus, recycled paper and wood. Itis concluded that satisfactory or promising materials exist on the market. Irrigation and fertilization techniques must be adapted for these pots.
