Environmental lobby groups and biotech industries simultaneously lobbied the European Commission Nov.28 to listen to their opposing messages on the use of genetically-modified(GM)crops.Gathering in front of the European Commission in Brussels,Greenpeace called on the Commission to stop its authorization of GM crops in the face of new scientific evidence.The group backed a call by European Environment Commissioner Stavros Dimas,who is currently circulating draft proposals within the Commission calling for a veto on two GM maize types,known as Bt,for cultivation.
