EPA expanding efforts to assess chemical risks to children

EPA has opened a 45-day comment period on a draft document that focuses on expanding the assessment of,and regulatory approaches to,risks posed to infants and children from exposure to toxic chemicals,according to a notice published in the March 13 Federal Register.According to EPA,A Framework for Assessing Health Risks of Environmental Exposures to Children "attempts to organize and present current knowledge and practices in a programmatic framework for assessing human health risks from exposures to environmental agents from prior to conception through adolescence."
