Einstein versus Lorentz and Poincare: Open questions of credit

In this article, we investigate accepted claims that relate to the gestation of Einstein'scorpus papers of 1905. Contrary to what is generally believed, Einstein had much interaction withthe scientific community and with specific works that were co-evolving with his own ideas. At thevery least, the question of credit should be revisited on several points.
