In this article, we intend to discuss some of the slight inaccuracies in the use of thermodynamics that appear occasionally in the literature. The ones chosen as examples are the idea of obtaining order out of chaos; a proposal for a "new ensemble;" the "inflationary scenario," which is based on the lack of adiabaticity of the expansion of the early universe; and, finally, black-hole thermodynamics, which appears in many respects like a black body, supposedly having the same type of spectrum.
