The electron may be considered to be a wave-packet comprising photons travel-ing in opposite directions, continually reversing direction, and confined to a re-gion of space. This differs from the conventional view that the wave-packet com-prises waves that extend infinitely into space but are in phase only in the region ofthe packet.
