ARepsol-operated consortium is preparing to drill the first exploration well for seven years offshore of northern Cuba. Located between 60 km and 90 km south of Key West, Florida, and in the wake of last year's Deepwater Horizon oil spill, the Jagiiey prospect has triggered a litany of advice, lobbying and warnings from the US oil industry, environmental and political advocacy groups, all recommending an easing -or a toughening - of Washington's relations with Cuba.
