摘要

Effect of vernalization on F_1 hybrids in winter x spring wheat crosses was studied using 13 winter wheat lines and four diverse spring wheat varieties. Significant effect of vernalization on heterosis of FI hybrids of winter x spring wheat was observed for grain yield and its component traits. One cross, WW_3 x HS 240, showed the highest heterosis over the standard variety HS277 for grain yield, spike length, grains/spike, and 1000-grain weight under vernalized conditions. The hybrids exhibiting significant economic heterosis over the standard variety for yield and other traits under vernalized conditions were WW_1 x HPW 42, WW_1 x HD 2380, WW_1 x HS 240, and WW-3 x HPW 42.
