'The ElTechnical Programme aims to provide industry with cost effective, value-adding knowledge on key current and future issues within the energy sector.' This is the strap line that sits above all official documents of the El's Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee (STAC) -the body with responsibility for setting and steering the El Technical Programme - and encapsulates well the purpose that underpins the activities of the El as a whole in delivering good practice for the global energy industry.
