A gap in customer service between foreign-invested and domestically owned fuel retail outlets in China appears to have widened as multinational firms roll out convenience stores(C-stores)on their forecourts.Motorists using stores opened by France's Total in its joint ventures with Chinese chemical company Sinochem can avail themselves of food,refreshments,toiletries and bathroom facilities.The presentation-including tables for drivers to eat at-contrasts sharply with the bare offerings of filling stations operated by state-owned PetroChina and Sinopec,which usually seem oversized and over-staffed by comparison.
