2011: A challenging but robust year for the Energy Institute

In a persistently difficult economic operating environment, the El saw some areas of its activity being hit particularly hard whilst others remained robust. It responded to the economic situation through tight controls on expenditure whilst seeking to maximise services. A highlight of activity over the last year was the upgrade of the El's database, the objective being to hold more accurate information on members' interests and tailor El services to their specific needs. This work underpins the introduction of knowledge management as a core activity within the El's portfolio, to ensure that members and stakeholders can access the most authoritative and up-to-date energy information in support of their personal and professional development.
