Shale gas PSC first for Shell in China

Shell has signed a production sharing contract (PSC) with China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) to develop the Fushun-Yongchuan shale gas block in Sichuan province. According to Shell, it is the first shale gas PSC to be signed with a foreign partner in China. Shell already has a PSC for the conventional Jinqiu tight gas block, which lies more than 100 km north of the Fushun block in the same basin.
