China's plans to develop a renewable aviation fuel recently stepped up a gear following news that part of the Civil Aviation Administration of China's (CAAC) Civil Aviation Development Fund (CADF) will be used to support domestic airlines' and aeroplane manufacturers' energy saving initiatives. Companies will be awarded subsidies ranging from 30% to 60% toward total investment costs of developing energy saving aviation technologies including aviation biofuel, according to the CAAC.
