摘要

In this work, a rigorous kinetic model for description of asphaltene deposition in oil reservoirs is developed. Oil and asphaltene mass balance, Darcy, permeability, and porosity equations have been simultaneously solved by considering the different mechanisms of asphaltene deposition in porous media. The snowball effect and monolayer adsorption mechanisms are accurately incorporated in the presented kinetic model. The overall deviation between the predicted and measured permeability values is about 1.49%, suggesting the potential application of the proposed model for assessing the effect of asphaltene deposition on the performance of porous petroleum reservoirs.
