Refinery shutdowns squeeze gasoil supply

The start of the winter wheat planting season and imminent end to the summer fishing ban in China have increased demand for gasoil, reports Argus China Petroleum. However, domestic supply tightened dramatically in August and September as refineries shut for maintenance. Gasoline and diesel supply are expected to improve this month, when refineries come back on line. In the meantime, the shortfall has put wholesale fuel prices under pressure.
