Today,companies the world over are battling to find,recruit and develop the skills they need to manage and grow their business.However,for those in the petroleum and energy sector-especially in developed economies-the pressure on skills is intensifying at an alarming rate.In the face of this skills crunch,the only certainty for the industry is that doing nothing is not an option.The good news is there are steps that companies can take to simultaneously bridge the skills gap and sharpen their competitive edge.Mark Spelman,Global Head of Strategy at Accenture,offers his perspective on the issue.
